Successful Recipient Obligations & Conditions of Support
The applicant acknowledges that they have read and understood the following conditions, and that if their application is successful, the applicant will be expected to comply with these obligations.
- Acknowledgement of Support
Recipients must acknowledge Kanapu as a supporter in any presentation, poster, or related materials where they were supported to attend.
- Follow-up Reflection
Within four weeks following the exchange, recipients are required to submit one of the following:
– A short, written reflection (300–500 words for Expert & Event Access/Internship Support, or 10-30 words for Practical Experiences) sharing what they learned, and how the experience will shape and/or influence them going forward, or
– A short video reflection (2–3 minutes) covering the same points, recorded to a quality suitable for sharing (smartphone is fine).
The choice of format is yours. Reflections may be shared on the Kanapu Exchange website, social media channels, or in other communications, with the recipient credited by name, in perpetuity. Failure to submit a reflection within the required timeframe may affect eligibility for future Kanapu support.
- Photography & Media
Recipients consent to Kanapu using any photographs or video footage from the experience — including those submitted as part of their reflection — for promotional and communications purposes. This includes use on the Kanapu website, social media, newsletters, and funding reports. Recipients will always be credited where practicable. Kanapu will not sell or license images to third parties. If a recipient does not wish certain images to be used, they should indicate this clearly when submitting their reflection.
- Participation in the Kanapu Community
Recipients are encouraged (though not required) to:
– Share their experience informally with peers and colleagues to help promote the programme and their learning.
– Be available for a brief conversation with future applicants if approached by Kanapu.
– Engage with Kanapu networks where relevant to their work.
These conditions exist to ensure Kanapu can continue supporting individuals and to demonstrate the value of the programme to our partners and stakeholders.
