
Kanapu hosted its third national wānanga in-person at The Pā, University of Waikato, on 20 March 2025. This attracted more than 120 delegates from the research, science, innovation and technology sector. Attendees celebrated Māori innovation and commercial success built upon mātauranga Māori under the theme of Rangakura: Intergenerational Approaches to Mana Motuhake. The event comprised four keynote speakers, three interactive workshops, one panel discussion and the first-time Kanapu Awards, Ngā Tohu Kanapu.
Kanapu will hold its fourth national wānanga in March 2026 on potential pathways and opportunities for success in the science, innovation and technology sector.
